| The Hogar Los Abuelitos is a private geriatric home that is run by an amazing woman named Irma who has dedicated her life to caring and housing elderly and other disabled folks. Currently she is caring for 14 incredible, yet needy, people and only has a couple helpers who work to cook, clean and care for all the inhabitants. Many of these elders have been abandoned by their families and taken in by Irma, whether they can pay or not. Irma spends from her own pocket to provide food, supplies and medicine for those who do not have the ability to pay for such necessities. Because she is so low-staffed, she does not have the opportunity to spend much quality time with each patient individually. |

| This is a private, non-profit, Child Care Center aimed to help orphan, disadvantaged and disabled children living in Cordoba and the suburbs. With more than 40 years existence it is divided in 7 different buildings or so-called 'Casas', it has capacity for 300 children. They are assisted by a staff of more than 30 people including the director, administrative officers, social workers, physicians, neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and volunteers for other remaining tasks. Anyway, the center lacks many things for the treatment of the children especially in the area of psychiatry and neurology. |
