Trekking
Exploring the sierras through trekking takes participants to places which are nothing short of astonishing. Much of Cordoba is accessible for all ages and physical conditions.
The most recommended places are: the valley of the river Pinto, the Characato, the El Cajon dam and the Terrones, the Gigantes, the National Park and Quebrada del Condorito Nature Reserve.
Macizo Los Gigantes (2374 m.s.n.m.)
Designated as the National Centre for Mountain Instruction, Macizo Los Gigantes possesses shelters and excellent rock forms to climb. Climbing can be done with or without equipment.
Cerro Champaqui (2790 m.s.n.m.)
This is the highest peak in the province´s mountain range. Perfect for horseback riding, trekking and climbing.
Cerro Uritorco (1950 m.s.n.m.)
This is one of the most easily accessible options. Trekking and straightforward climbing can be practised on its slopes.
Paragliding
One finds the ideal place for paragliding in the viewpoint of Cuchi Corral, on a depression 400m above the river Pintos (near the town of La Cumbre).
For people without previous experience there exists the possibility of doing a "baptism flight"; with an instructor.
Mountaineering
There are many places to practise this sport. Vertical walls, habitable hollows in the stone, lagoons in the cumber, are waiting to be discovered.
Horseback Riding
Whether it´s long excursions or simple walks, horseback riding in the sierras is a stunning experience.
Rural Tourism
In order to stay in, get to know and make the most of the countryside and do some of the activities that take place there, the region has appropriate establishments for those ends.
In Alta Gracia, Ascochinga, Ongamira, Los Reartes, la Pampa de Achala, La Paz and San Javier one finds the most notable places.
One can play interesting sports such as golf, tennis, equestrianism, volley ball, polo, etc.
