Spanish in Argentina - La Cañada, Cordoba

The City of Buenos Aires or Capital Federal is the capital of the Argentine Republic. The total population of Buenos Aires is above ten millions, making it one of the 10 most populated urban centers in the world.
Buenos Aires was founded twice, the first foundation was in 1536 by Don Pedro de Mendoza, the second and final, was in 1580 by Juan de Garay. In the 19th. century, promoted by the Argentine State to populate the nation began the first great migratory wave. During the 20th. century, successive immigrations completed the picture of Buenos Aires as a cosmopolitan city in which people with different cultures and religions live together.
Spanish, Italian, Syrian-Lebanese, Polish and Russian immigrants provided Buenos Aires with the cultural eclecticism that is so characteristic of the city.

 Idioma

The official language is Spanish. Something to note is the use of vos (you) instead of the Spanish tú for informal treatment, and the use of che to address a person.
"che": this expression is used to attract a person's attention and allows addressing someone without using his or her name: "Che, ¿me podés decir la hora"? (Che, could you tell me the time?). It expresses familiarity.
The porteños easily understand persons who speak Italian and Portuguese. Most people involved in tourist activities speak English.

 Night Life

Nightlife in Buenos Aires is one of the busiest in the entire world. In fact, this aspect is almost part of the Argentineans' nature as they always have a good reason for getting together with friends, fellow workers or club mates.
Concerts, festivals, theatres, movies, cafés. Milonga or Tango clubs. Pubs, discoteques and bowling clubs. There is permanent night activity in Buenos Aires. San Telmo and Congreso are the right places for bohemians or those who enjoy tango. Undoubtedly Palermo, Recoleta and Puerto Madero are areas you can not avoid visiting.
Discos open at midnight and close between 6 and 7 am (some of these places extend the party until midday). It is quite common for young people to go to more than one place in the same night.
