El nombre de la ciudad, mezcla del paso cordillerano hallado por un jesuita al sur del cerro Tronador, Vuriloche, y del nombre del comerciante alemán que construyó la primera casa en 1895, Don Carlos Wiederhold, que por error trascendió como San Carlos; por una equivocación de imprenta de fines del siglo XIX se cambió el vocablo indígena por Bariloche”. El 3 de mayo de 1902, por medio de un decreto presidencial, se da carácter oficial de fundación al asentamiento que lleva el nombre de San Carlos De Bariloche.
Few cities in the world are built on a lake of cold waters and reveal and surrounded of mountains and hills of the cord cordillerano, but none with the beauty and charm of Bariloche. To 770 mts. on the level of the sea, and located in the Park National Nahuel Huapi, it is the access door to the Patagonia and the Corridor of the Lakes, being the main tourist city of the Argentina and one of those most populated ones of the county. Their primitive residents were the pehuelches, puelches, poyas and vuriloches.
